Stay Busy on New Year’s Day
Welcome to 2020, everyone! January 1 is full for free activities to get you moving this year, and exploring our wonderful city. Check out these free activities on New Year’s Day.
Don’t forget—if you’re going out New Year’s Eve, you can get a free Trimet ride starting at 8 p.m.
Go grab a beer and go on a tour at one of Portland’s best breweries!
That’s right. Portland’s beloved bookstore is open for your perusing pleasure. The main Burnside location will be open until 10 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Hours vary as all other locations.
Portland has some wonderful, and free, urban parks waiting for you to explore them. Find a park near your neighborhood.
State parks in Oregon and Washington are encouraging people to get outside on January 1. Certain parks will be hosting free guided first day hikes, and all Washington park entrance fees.
Ready for some teamwork? Attend one of these trivia nights at a local bar or restaurant. It is FREE to play, and you might just win a gift card.
Taking the entire family to the movies does not have to be expensive. Go to Jubitz Cinema, Mission Theater and Academy Theater for $4-$6 tickets per person.
