Día de los Muertos at Portland Mercado
On November 1 and 2, 2023, Día de los Muertos is celebrated from 4 to 8 p.m. at Portland Mercado.
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a tradition deeply rooted in honoring and remembering those who have passed on. It is a time of reverence, celebration and a unique opportunity to connect with the spirits of our ancestors.
Portland Mercado’s Día de los Muertos celebration invites everyone to partake in this tradition.
Come and be part of an incredible event celebrating Mexican heritage, featuring a community altar, vendors, live music and activities.
At the community alter, visitors can offer flowers, treats and gifts to call relatives back from the spirit realm.
This gathering serves as an opportunity for both those familiar and unfamiliar with Día de los Muertos to come together, share stories and embrace the beauty of this heartfelt tradition. It’s a moment to celebrate life, the memories of our departed loved ones and the enduring legacies they’ve left behind.
This event is free to attend. Food and drinks are available for purchase from several vendors.
