Free Cone Day started in 1979 to thank fans for all the love and support during the company’s first year of business in Burlington, Vermont. Since then, Ben & Jerry’s have given away millions of scoops. 

The popular giveaway returns this spring. Here’s how you can claim your free scoop.

Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s

On Tuesday, April 16, from 12 to 8 p.m., Ben & Jerry’s shops around the world will be giving customers free scoops.

The free cone offer is valid on the flavor of your choice in a cup or cone. You can choose from ice cream, frozen yogurt or sorbet.

Limit one cone per customer, while supplies last at participating shops. 

Ben & Jerry’s in Portland

Where should you go to get your scoop? There are two Ben & Jerry’s locations in Portland:

• 524 SW Yamhill St.
• 301 NW 10th Ave.

Also at the Yamhill location, local nonprofit New Avenues for Youth will hold its 14th annual Scoop-A-Thon from 12 to 8 p.m. You can make a donation to help fund programs for youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.
