Support Portland’s digital access nonprofit at the Free Geek Block Party.
Free Geek is a local nonprofit that provides digital access to the most vulnerable populations in our community. The organization collects more than a million pounds of e-waste each year. Staff and volunteers refurbish donations into thousands of technology items, which are donated back into the community or sold to support the cause at Free Geek’s shop in Southeast Portland.
Come celebrate this organization at the block party this Sunday.
Free Geek Block Party
On Sunday, August 21, from 2:30-6:30 p.m., Free Geek is hosting a block party at its Southeast Portland headquarters. Here are some of the activities you can enjoy:
- Local live music
- Small business booths
- Food trucks
- Activities with SCRAP
- Live screen printing
- Tech donation station
- Chair massages
- A raffle with incredible prizes
If you want a chance to win a cool Portland prize, you’ll want to enter to raffle. Items include a night’s stay at Jupiter Hotel, perfume from Imaginary Authors, a bag of skincare goods from Mad Hippie, art from Wokeface and Paper Puffin, tattoo certificate for Lombard Street Tattoo, climbing classes from Portland Rock Gym, event tickets from local venues, spa and manicure treatments and more.
The event is free to attend. A $10 donation is suggested. Raffle tickets are available for purchase onsite. Funds raised will support Free Geek’s general operating expenses.
