What would you do #forthethrone?
We’ve been waiting almost two years for Game of Thrones Season 8. On March 5, the long-anticipated official trailer was released and we all started counting the days until the first episode airs of April 14. If you’re like me, it’s been a long 21 months. You’re seeking out someone you can bum HBO access from and then binge watch the whole last season.
Well now I have a few more items to add to your list in preparation for the eighth and final season of one of the world’s greatest shows. Portland is getting in the GoT spirit with themed activities and food and drink. I’ve gathered a list of what has been posted so far and will continue adding to it. Game of Thrones Portland

Winter is just a few short weeks away. Will you be ready?
So you think you’re a super fan? On March 24, test your knowledge at Bridgetown Trivia’s event. Dress as your favorite character for an evening of GOT questions with food, drinks, a costume contest and cash prize to the winning team! Bonus points will be awarded to a team that attends in full costume. This is a 21+ event. Cost is $15 per person.
Love GoT? Have a pug? Start building your costume and float for Pug Crawl 2019! The Oregon Humane Society recently released that the 2019 theme for the annual pug parade will be Game of Thrones: Pugs are Coming. Best of all, the event takes place from 12-4 p.m. on May 19, the day of the last episode!
Have you played the board game yet? Game Knight Lounge has it, and for a $5 cover you can bring play at Oregon’s first board game lounge. Or if you prefer a solo game, swing by Ground Kontrol for the GoT pinball machine.
Food & Drink
Olive oil base, spinach, roasted garlic, feta, and a light dusting of herbs and spices. Yum! Place your order at Sizzle Pie for this delicious treat.
Pairings Portland Wine Shop & Bar will be serving two GoT-themed 5-wine flights (total of 10 wines): One flight of 5 wines paired to Arya Stark, and one flight of 5 wines paired to Jon Snow. Each set of 5 wines will cover each character’s development from Seasons 1 thru 7. The cost is $25 per 5 wine flight. $40 for all 10. This is pretty pricey for what I assume will be tasting pours. I recommend sharing one flight with a friend.
Coming to a store near you! Oreo posted on Feb. 23 that they are releasing a GoT-themed package of Oreos. I’ll let you know as soon as they release more info.
World Market has a whole variety of GoT-themed wines from Chardonnay to Pinot Noir. While you’re there, pick up the GoT wine glasses to match.
