Where are all my rockhounds at? The Clackamette Mineral and Gem Club’s annual Gem and Mineral Show is this weekend.
The local club is a community of people who enjoy educating and sharing in many areas of expertise, including geology, rockhounding, mineral collection, lapidary and jewelry arts.
The Gem and Mineral Show invites rock enthusiasts of all ages and from all walks of life to come together under one roof for the annual event. The show includes faceting and wire wrapping demonstrations, a silent auction, a bargain rock sale, dealer booths, activities for kids, door prizes and a snack bar.
There’s also a special florescent rock show. See a rainbow of glowing rocks, minerals and fossils, and learn what causes some rocks it fluoresce.
The Gem and Mineral Show is Saturday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free to attend. Parking is also free.
