Where are all my rockhounds at? The Clackamette Mineral and Gem Club’s annual Gem and Mineral Show Memorial Day weekend.
The local club is a community of people who enjoy educating and sharing in many areas of expertise, including geology, rockhounding, mineral collection, lapidary and jewelry arts.
Here are the details about the 2023 show:
2023 Gem and Mineral Show
The Gem and Mineral Show invites rock enthusiasts of all ages and from all walks of life to come together under one roof for the annual event. It is taking place May 27-28, 2023.
The show includes faceting demonstrations, a silent auction, a bargain rock sale, dealer booths, activities for kids and door prizes.
There’s also a special florescent rock show. See a rainbow of glowing rocks, minerals and fossils, and learn what causes some rocks to fluoresce. The show schedule is 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 .m. on Saturday and 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Demonstrators will have equipment, tools, and supplies for you to view and ask questions. There is also a demonstration on faceting.
Twenty vendors will be onsite displaying a variety of rocks, minerals and fossils for sale.
The Gem and Mineral Show is Saturday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free to attend. Parking is also free.
