The kettle is on and the tea is piping hot during National Hot Tea Month. Surprisingly, Portland is a pretty big tea town with national companies like Stash and hometown favorites like Townshend’s and Jasmine Pearl. But only one Portland original will be offering you freebies and fun during National Hot Tea Month. 

That wonderful teahouse is Steven Smith Teamaker.

First Cup is on Us

Smith Tea is inviting you to come have a cuppa for free every Monday during the month of January. Visit one of their two Portland tasting rooms: 110 SE Washington St and 1626 NW Thurman St. Swing by on Jan. 14, 21 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Limit one cup of Smith sachet tea per person. This offer does not include loose leaf or gaiwan.

What should you choose at Smith Tea? Well, there is so much to choose from! Here’s a few recommendations. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the limited-edition Lovers Leap black tea features pink rose petals, chamomile and a hint of black currant. Mmm sounds steamy and sensuous! Or if you’re into something with a little less flair, Smith Tea has plenty of takes on traditional blends, such as Portland Breakfast, Jasmine Silver Tip and Peppermint Leaves.

You really cannot go wrong with your choice of tea. But if the thought of running loose in a fancy tea shop intimidates you, have no fear. Smith Tea has very knowledgeable hosts ready to your questions and help you choose.
