If you’re looking to try a new activity or wanting to experience some nostalgia from your childhood, plan a day to go ice skating at these Portland ice rinks.
The locations below include seasonal ice skating experiences and year-round ice rinks. All of the ice rinks have public skating, also called open skate, throughout the week. Be sure to check online for the public skating times before you visit.
Along with public skating, these arenas offer other activities including figure skating and hockey lessons, group rates, birthday parties, and other events.

Portland Winter Ice Rink
During the holiday season, there is a special ice rink open in downtown Portland. The Portland Winter Ice Rink is open every day through January 5. The covered ice rink welcomes both seasoned skaters and those taking their first glide on the ice.
Admission is $20 for adults and $12 for youth under 12. These prices include skate rental.
The Portland Winter Ice Rink is at the Morrison Bridgehead, 499 SW Naito Pkwy. in Portland.
Lloyd Center Ice Rink
Despite the emptiness of the mall, Lloyd Center Ice Rink is open! The Lloyd Center Mall centers around the ice rink. In fact, it was the nation’s first ice rink located inside a shopping center when the mall opened in 1960. The rink is open seven days a week.
Winter prices are $20 for adults and $5 skate rental charge. Kids 5 and under and adults 50+ pay $15 with skate rental included in the price. During Cheap Skate days on Tuesday and Thursday 6-8 p.m., you’ll pay $18, including skate rental.
Rock ‘n Skate has a live DJ on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-8 p.m. The price is $20 and includes skate rental.
The Lloyd Center Ice Rink is located on the lower level of the Lloyd Center Mall at 953 Lloyd Ctr. in Portland.
OMSI on Ice: Indoor Skating at the Museum
New this year, OMSI has an indoor skating rink, open through January 1. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a beginner, the controlled indoor setting makes it fun for everyone.
Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for kids 5-13. Each ticket includes a 30-minute skate session and rental skates.
OMSI is at 1945 SE Water Ave. in Portland.
Winter Village Skating at Orenco Station
Take a drive to Hillsboro for the return of the Winter Village at Orenco Station. The Jerry Willey Plaza transforms into a festive covered outdoor ice skating rink open through January 12.
All tickets must be purchased in person on the day of your skate session. Space is limited to 55 people per session, and it’s first come, first served. Tickets are $19 for adults and $16 for children 10 and under. Children 3 and under skate for free.

Winterhawks Skating Center
Skate on the same ice as the Winterhawks! In operation since 1965, the ice rink is the official practice and development facility for the Portland Winterhawks junior ice hockey team. It is also known as the Valley Ice Arena. When practice isn’t in session, the rink offers public skating hours.
The price to skate is $25 and free for kids 5 and under with a paying adult. Skate rentals are included in the price.
The Winterhawks Skating Center is located at 9250 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy in Beaverton.
Mountain View Ice Arena
The arena in Vancouver is open seven days a week with public skating times available almost everyday.
The price is $18 and includes your skate rental. You can book your session online.
The Mountain View Ice Arena is located at 14313 SE Mill Plain Blvd. in Vancouver.
Sherwood Ice Arena
Since 2000, Sherwood Ice Arena has strived to create a safe haven for family recreation and entertainment. The facility hosts the largest adult hockey program in the Northwest and specializes in all inclusive birthday parties. The arena is open seven days a week with public skating times available almost everyday.
The price is $25. Skate rentals are included. Kids 5 years and younger skate free with a paying adult.
The Sherwood Ice Arena is located at 20407 SW Borchers Dr. in Sherwood.
