Little Boxes is not happening in 2020.
Support small businesses this holiday season
For the past three years, I have looked forward to exploring Portland in a whole new way with Little Boxes. This shopping treasure hunt celebrates local Portland businesses during the biggest shopping days of the year: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Sunday.
Instead of fighting the lines at overcrowded big box stores or spending a mind-numbing amount of time looking for parking at the mall, Little Boxes encourages you to support local shops and have fun while doing it.
The 2019 event is taking place November 29-December 1. More than 150 businesses are participating. You can see a full map here. This is a great way to peruse your favorite Portland neighborhoods or check out a new area of town.
This event has changed a lot this year. You no longer visit retailers for a digital raffle ticket for the chance to win prizes. This also means there is no more need for the Little Boxes app. I won’t lie, I am very sad about this. But this is still a great reason to get out and support local small businesses.
So what cool things does this year have to offer? Many stores will have special discounts to everyone who visits during the event weekend.
Little Boxes is the most fun you can have while supporting local businesses in Portland. Bring a friend along to make the day even better.
