Here are the details about the 2025 event.
2025 Opera in the Park Portland
Opera in the Park proudly presents French Composer Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Peninsula Park. This event is free to attend.
The Peninsula Park Rose Garden offers the backdrop for an unforgettable night of opera in the outdoors.
Premiering in 1875 at the Opéra-Comique in Paris, the opera caused quite a stir with its gritty realism and portrayal of passion, jealousy, and fate. Set in Seville, Spain, Carmen follows the tragic story Carmen and her doomed relationship with soldier Don José.
With its catchy melodies, Carmen broke from the lighthearted tone and embraced themes of human emotion and social defiance.
Come see the performance that has transcended generations come to life once again at one of Portland’s iconic gardens.
Pack your picnic baskets, grab your lawn chairs and join an evening of passion, drama and unforgettable music.
The event is at Peninsula Park Rose Garden, 6225 N Albina Ave. in Portland. For more information and updates, visit Opera in the Park’s website.
