The Planetarium Sky Theater at Mt. Hood Community College welcomes visitors into a world of cosmic wonders and astronomical marvels.
The planetarium recently reopened to be public and offers shows on select dates each month.

2025 Planetarium Sky Theater Shows
The Planetarium Sky Theater promises an enchanting journey through the cosmos for astronomy enthusiasts of all ages. Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or a curious newcomer, these shows offer a unique blend of entertainment and education. Don’t miss the chance to explore the universe right here on campus.
Each show covers a specific topic. Inside the planetarium are plush theater seats that provide a vantage point for the stunning visuals projected onto the expansive globular screen above.
Not only will you take in stunning views, you’ll also learn from a Mt. Hood Community College instructor. William Blackmore gives an engaging presentation adding an extra layer of insight to each show. The room comes alive with his dynamic storytelling, making the exploration of the cosmos an unforgettable experience for attendees.
2025 Planetarium Sky Theater Schedule
The Planetarium Sky Theater has regular showings on the first and third Thursdays of the month. There are two shows each night: 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Some of the early shows start at 6 p.m. I have noted those dates below.
Doors open 15 minutes early, allowing eager stargazers to secure their seats.

What makes this an even more worthwhile experience is the pricing. It is a great way to spend time with the people you love without going over budget. A visit to the Planetarium Sky Theater makes for a inexpensive date, a fun family night or a new way to spend an evening with friends.
Tickets for the shows are available at the door. Cash and card payments accepted.

- Mt. Hood CC students with ID: $2
- Kids 15 and under (accompanied by an adult): Free
