This year, Children’s Day at the Gresham Japanese Garden delivers a lively and heartwarming event filled with tradition, creativity and fun for all ages.
Here’s what is in store:
Children’s Day at Gresham Japanese Garden
Taking place on Sunday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., this free, family-friendly festival invites everyone to gather under a sky adorned with vibrant koinobori—colorful carp streamers that symbolize strength, perseverance, and the happiness of children.
Throughout the event, families can explore a variety of engaging activities. Children can dive into hands-on origami, try their luck at the playful koi fishing station or embark on a scavenger hunt. There will also be games to enjoy outside, along with face painting.
Storytelling sessions, scheduled at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., offer moments to listen to tales that capture the spirit of childhood.
The event is at Main City Park at the Kyoudou Center and Ebetsu Plaza, located at 219A S. Main Avenue in Gresham, Oregon.
