Soak in that sweet pine smell at Christmas tree farms and lots around Portland.
Nothing rings in the holiday season quite like the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree. We’re fortunate to live in an area where trees are plentiful and grow by the foot. It also means there are plenty of options for Christmas tree farms and lots in Portland. Find the perfect tree at a location near you.
While you’re in the holiday spirit, plan a night to visit the sparking displays at the Oregon Zoo or see our rivers come to life during the Christmas Ships Parade.
After you find the perfect tree or wreath, there are some simple steps you can take to help your greenery shine throughout the season.
Tree and wreath care tips
- Keep your tree watered at all times.
- Do not put trees near heat sources.
- Mist your wreath with water daily.
Most of the Christmas tree farms and lots include shaking, baling and twine to help you secure the tree to your car. They’ll also supply saws for cutting your desired tree.
$5 Tree Permit
Another option is harvesting your own tree from Mt. Hood National Forest. Make your Christmas tree search an adventure and get a $5 Christmas tree permit.
Many of these Christmas tree farms and lots in and around Portland are open while supplies last. I recommend scouting out a farm now and planning your visit early. Before visiting, make sure you check the farm websites for the most up-to-date information on inventory and open days.
