Portland garage sale season is June-October. Mark your calendar for these Portland neighborhood garage sales.

Since many people have transitioned to working from home for a few days a week or permanently, they’ve had to make room for workspaces. This means items once thought of as essential have been moved to the garage or closet. As a result, this might go down at the best garage sale season in history.

If you love a good find and a good deal, plan your garage sale adventure around these neighborhood events. Portland neighborhood garage sales offer a full day of summertime fun, as well as a cool way to see the various residential areas of the city.

Tips for shopping at a garage sale

Before you embark on your garage sale adventure, make sure you are prepared for whatever awesome finds the day has to offer.

• Have enough cash or a mobile payment app. These sales take place in neighborhoods and some are not close to an ATM. Help your fellow sale-goers by bringing small bills and coins. Or if you prefer a mobile payment option, like Venmo or PayPal, have the app ready on your phone.
• Make a list of items you need. Having a list of what is missing or needs replaced at your home will help you focus on great finds. For example, I am always on the lookout for canning jars.
• Choose your time. Do you want to get there early and be first in line for fabulous finds or do you want to make a deal at the end? Either way, have a strategy for what type of experience you want.
• Be hands free. These neighborhood sales can be very busy and you may have a long walk back to your car. I recommend an empty backpack to put stuff in and a comfy pair of shoes.
• If you don’t love it, leave it. You don’t want to have to sell it at your own garage sale next year.

Portland neighborhood garage sales are organized by date. Some have yet to announce 2025 dates. I will update this post as soon as more information is available.

North Plains Garage Sale

May 3, 2025

Take a drive along Highway 26 to North Plains for the annual garage sale. This is a citywide event brings the community together for a day of selling and treasure hunting. A map is available Thursday, May 1. 

North Plains Garage Sale is Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Piedmont Neighborhood Yard Sale

May 17, 2025

The neighborhood in Northeast Portland is hosting a one-day neighborhood sale. Located between I-5 and MLK Blvd, this neighborhood is home to one of Portland’s free rose gardens and lots of wonderful old homes. Peruse clothing, home goods, electronics, collectibles, gardening, tools, plants and vintage items.

The Piedmont Neighborhood Yard Sale is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. from Saturday, May 17.

Irvington

May 31, 2025

Shop in one of Portland’s historic neighborhoods. The neighborhood—encompassing Northeast 7th, Fremont, Northeast 27th, and Broadway—has incredible Queen Anne, Period Revival Bungalow/Craftsman, and Prairie School architectural styles built from the 1890s through the 1930s. Take a stroll through a beautiful part of Portland and find something new to you. Last year, more than 100 household participated in the sale. 

Irvington Neighborhood Yard Sale is Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Linwood

June 7, 2025

Head to the Linwood neighborhood in Milwaukie for a day of garage saleing. Maps are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 11631 SE Linwood Ave. in Milwaukie. You can also view the map here. Participating neighbors will have balloons and signs on their lawns.

The Linwood Neighborhood Garage Sale starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. End times are set by each seller. 

Forest Heights

June 8, 2025

More than 6o households typically participate in this annual event. The Forest Heights neighborhood is in Portland’s West Hills at the intersection of Miller Road and Cornell Road.

Forest Heights Community Yard Sale is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. 

Sandee Palisades

June 13-14, 2025

Sandee Palisades neighborhood located East of Mount Hood Community College and North of Stark St. on Evans Ave. and Hampton Ave. in Troutdale.

The Sandee Palisades Neighborhood Garage Sale is Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14. Times vary by seller on Friday. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Laurelhurst

June 21, 2025

This is definitely one of Portland’s neighborhoods worth visiting anytime of the year. You’ll enjoy admiring the homes and Laurelhurst park while bargain hunting in this Southeast Portland neighborhood. Stroll through the looping streets, admire the architecture and find a treasure.

A map of the sale sites is available closer to the event. The Laurelhurst Neighborhood Garage Sale is happening Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Eastmoreland

June 21-22, 2025

Located in Southeast Portland, this neighborhood features wonderful early 20th century homes. It is the type of place you want to spend the afternoon strolling down the sidewalks admiring the beauty of old Portland. If you are looking for higher end items, chances are you’ll find them here.

The garage sale is an Eastmoreland tradition features 100+ homes selling furniture, clothing, children’s items, kitchenware, antiques, collectibles, art and more.

The Eastmoreland Garage Sale is taking place Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, June 22, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Happy Valley

June 27-29, 2025

Just outside of Southeast Portland, Happy Valley is the hillside city overlooking I-205. More than 20 sales are taking place in this community. I’ll post the map as soon as it is available.

The Happy Valley garage sale is Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29. Hours are set by each sale host. 

Multnomah Neighborhood Garage Sale

July 20, 2025

Located in Southwest Portland, Multnomah Village boasts a variety of shops and eateries surrounded by charming neighborhoods. Last year’s garage sale features 90 garage sales throughout the neighborhood. View the map.

Multnomah Neighborhood Garage Sale is Sunday, July 20. Most Most sales are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

McLoughlin

August 8-10, 2025

The annual McLoughlin Neighborhood Sale in Oregon City usually has 100+ sales throughout the historic McLoughlin district and in the hills above downtown Main Street. There are also lots of charming shops and great places to eat in Oregon City. 

The McLoughlin Neighborhood Sale is August 8-10, 2025. Hours are set by each seller. 

Maywood Park

August 15-17, 2025

Maywood Park in Northeast Portland has been the city within the city since 1967. Yes, it is literally an incorporated city within Portland city. City Council. Mayor. You name it. Every year they also host an annual garage sale within the city limits. Take a stroll through a new city and see what they have to offer!

The Maywood Park garage sale is Friday, August 15, through Sunday, August 17. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Rose City Park

September 6-7, 2025

This neighborhood dates back to the early 1900s and is home to Normandale Park, Frazer Park and the western part of Rose City Golf Course. 

Every year, the garage sale gathers close to 100 participants you can view on an interactive map. 

Rose City Park Neighborhood-Wide Garage Sale is Saturday, September 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NW’s Largest Garage Sale

November 8, 2025

Want to visit more than 600 garage sales all under one roof? Attend the NW’s Largest Garage Sale and Vintage Sale. This event is held at Clark County Fairgrounds and tickets are $7 per person.

The next event is November 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Glen Oak Neighborhood Garage Sale

Head to Oregon City’s Glen Oak neighborhood starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Participating locations have not been announced yet, but a good starting point is 14673 Glen Oak Rd. in  Oregon City.

Concordia

2025 date TBA

In Northeast Portland, Concordia is in the heart of the Alberta and Killingsworth Street restaurant and art scene. This location makes for a fun walk. 

Arbor Lodge

2025 date TBA

This North Portland neighborhood has some great shops and restaurants along with a wonderful inclusive park. Swing by and see what this small neighborhood has to offer during its annual yard sale.

Cedar Hills

Head out to Beaverton for this annual neighborhood garage sale all day. A list and a map of addresses for the participants will generally be posted the Thursday before the sale date. 

The Cedar Hills Neighborhood Garage Sale is all day on Saturday, July 13, 2024. 

Overlook Yard Sale and Free Share

2025 date TBA

The Overlook neighborhood in North Portland is hosts an annual yard sale. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 30 households are offering up treasures all across the neighborhood. View the map of more than 50 participating homes.

Following the event on Sunday is the free share. Yard sale hosts will set items that did not sell out on the curbside for free. This will take place all day. This event also coincides with Overlook Porchfest.

Argay Terrace

2025 date TBA

The Argy Terrance neighborhood is located from NE 122nd Avenue on the west to NE 148th Avenue on the east between NE Sandy Boulevard and I-84. You can plan your route ahead of time with the map of participating locations. Here is the map.

The Argay Terrace Neighborhood Garage Sale is August 2-4, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kenton

2025 date TBA

Located in North Portland, Kenton is home to the Paul Bunyan statue and a charming main street on Denver Ave. The sale extends from Interstate Ave. to Chautauqua Blvd. Use this map to find participating locations.

The Kenton neighborhood garage sale is Sunday, August 11. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
