Sparrowhawk Native Plants is hosting a fall native plant sale with an expansive species selection available for purchase.
This local company provides eco-minded gardeners in the Portland and Vancouver area with habitat-friendly and climate-resilient plants that support healthy ecosystems.
The fall native plant sale will have online ordering and four pickup options to choose from. What makes this plant sale unique is that each pickup event benefits a community organization. A percentage of proceeds from the sale will go to support one of the four local nonprofits.
Here are the details about the upcoming event.
Fall Native Plant Sale with Sparrowhawk Native Plants
How it works
Online ordering opens Sunday, August 18, at 9 a.m. and will be available through September 15, or until plants sell out. Preordering is required to get plants from the pickup events. There is a $30 minimum order.
The online catalog has more than 100 species of native plants to choose from. You can view the expansive list and easily filter by sunlight and moisture levels as well as read educational profiles to find the right plants for your yard.
During checkout, you will choose your pickup location, day and time in this fall. This year, pickup events are held in parking lots in Northeast, East and Southeast Portland as well as Tigard.
At each event, you will park and go to the marked check-in tent where you’ll get your ordered plant list. Then, you’ll peruse the inventory and pick out your plants. Volunteers onsite will double check that you got all the plants you purchased and answer any questions you have.
