In celebration of Earth Day, The Oregon Garden hosts a day of fun filled with free activities and exhibits.
If you haven’t been, this is the ideal time to visit this Oregon attraction. The 80-acre botanical garden feature more than 20 specialty gardens showcasing the diverse botanical beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Here’s why you should attend on Earth Day:
Free Earth Day Celebration at The Oregon Garden
On Saturday, April 18, head to The Oregon Garden for family-friendly indoor activities at the garden for free. The event is held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors of all ages can explore a variety of educational exhibits, interactive demonstrations and 30-plus eco-friendly vendors. There are lots of hands-on activities to engage the whole family.
Activities include
- Enjoy a performance by Monmouth Taiko Drumming Association.
- Interact with a life-size orca whale exhibit.
- Meet animals from PDX Critters.
- Participate in a pine cone bird feeder craft.
- Snap a keepsake at the photo booth.
- Get your face painted.
Also, outside food and beverages are welcome.

There are panel discussions held all day, courtesy of Sustainable Silverton.
10 a.m. Local and Resilient Food Chains
11 a.m. Oregon White Oaks in Silverton
1 p.m. Sustainable Silverton Coalition
2 p.m. Solar Panels and the Circular Economy
Parking
On-site parking is $10, but complimentary park-and-walk lots are also available at Silverton Senior Center and Robert Frost Elementary.
Plus, the event is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along.
