Free Comedy in the Park at Laurelhurst Park

Enjoy a free night of entertainment at Laurelhurst Park. Kickstand Comedy is hosting a special event called Comedy in the Park all summer long.

Kickstand Comedy is a nonprofit theater organization known for its curated live comedy events. For the fourth year, the local organization is bringing back its popular comedy show.

The venue for the summer comedy show is Laurelhurst Park, one of Portland’s most popular parks for good reason. It’s close in—easy to get to from either side of the river—and has lots of outdoor amenities (think basketball court, horseshoe pits, off leash dog area and a pond). It is also a great place for a picnic.

Here are the details about 2026 Comedy in the Park.

Laurelhurst Park sets the stage for local and national comics on Friday nights all summer long. The outdoor comedy series features stand up performers.

The comedy show is located in the park’s concert grove. It can be easily accessed at SE César E. Chávez Blvd. and Stark Street. In past years, this event has attracted more than 300 people on some nights. To make a great experience for everyone, there’s a sound system and stage lights.

This event has a lot of guests with their pups due to the event’s vicinity to the off-leash dog area and Portland’s love of canine companions. If your dog could use a night out, bring them with you!

2026 Schedule

The free Comedy in the Park events start at 6:30 p.m. Get there early to claim your spot on the grass, starting at 6 p.m. I recommend having dinner and a show al fresco with a picnic.

Free Comedy in the Park is held on Fridays from June 5 through September 4, 2026, except for a few select Fridays (see schedule below).
