The stars lined up so that State Parks Day coincides with Free Fishing Weekend. That means that if you’re camping overnight for FREE on Saturday, June 7, to celebrate State Parks Day, you can also fish for FREE on both Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, to celebrate the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife’s Free Fishing Weekend. For a full weekend, you can fish, crab and clam without a license. A number of FREE kids’ fishing events are planned around the state. Check them out here.
Camping is FREE the night of June 7 in full hookup (sewer, electricity and water), electrical hookup (electricity and water) and tent sites. Parking at the 26 day-use fee parks is FREE, too. Make your site reservation at Oregon State Parks and Recreation.
On top of that, Saturday, June 7, is National Trails Day. Numerous free hiking events are planned around the state. Check out the schedule here.
