Ready to shake off the work week? Head to Edgefield for a fun, free square dance event that’s sure to melt the stress away.
Built in 1911 as the county poor farm, the historic Edgefield’s original buildings have been carefully restored. The grounds are complete with gardens, restaurants, bars, a spa and a par 3 golf course.
The location also hosts great events throughout the year. Here’s how you can participate in this all ages activity:
Free Square Dance at Edgefield
From 8-10 p.m., join the Fourth Friday Free Square Dance at Edgefield Blackberry Hall. This is an all ages event. Plus, no experience or partner is required to participate.
The event includes a dance caller to tell you how it all works, and a four-piece stringband to keep everyone on the move.
At the event, you’ll see local talent take the stage. Stumptown Stringband fuels dances all up and down the West Coast. Calling the event is Steph Noll, a familiar face at many local and regional festivals and dances.
Here’s when you can join in on the fun.
