These events bring the community together to exchange items they no longer need for things they’ll actually use, creating a win for people, budgets and the planet. 

Kindred Vancouver is a low-waste, bulk refillery for your home and personal care needs. You bring your own containers and fill them up with a variety of household goods. In addition to bulk products, the local shop sells low-waste and sustainably made home goods, secondhand and vintage items, and locally made artwork.

Free Community Swap Events at Kindred Vancouver

Every month, Kindred Vancouver hosts free community swap events. You’re invited to bring items you don’t need and take home something new to you. I’ve participated in a few swaps, picking up a garlic press and a new plant.

If you don’t have anything to swap, that’s okay. Everyone is welcome to browse, take part and discover something new. 

Themes are different for each swap so peruse ones you may be interested in.

Here’s the schedule of upcoming events:

Events are held during Kindred’s open hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tool Swap

February 27-March 1 

Get rid of unneeded hand tools and power tools in good working condition, Unused or surplus hardware and gardening tools and equipment. Peruse what others bring along to find things you may need. 

Recipes and Cookbooks Swap

March 13-15 

Swap your favorite recipes and unused cookbooks at this event. 

Art Supply Swap

March 27-29

Love creating? This swap exchanges craft materials (yarn, fabric, beads, etc.), art supplies (paint, brushes, markers, etc.), DIY kits or tools you no longer need.

Coffee and Tea Lovers Swap

April 10-12

Bring and swap coffee and tea-related items in good, clean condition.

Camp Goods Swap

April 24-26

Bring your clean, gently used camp goods to Kindred and/or Wild Camp Goods next door for a two shop swap.

Plant and Seed Swap

May 8-10

Swap seeds, starts and gardening tools. 

Reusable and Market Bag Swap

May 22-24

Have a surplus of reusable bags or need some new-to-you ones? Bring bags to pass along and take what you’ll use.

Pride Rainbow Swap

June 5-7

This swap is all about rainbow everything and celebrates LGBTQ+ identity, creativity and expression.

Witchy Swap

June 19-21

Pass along and peruse crystals, tarot decks, spell jars and mystical treasures.
