SCRAP Creative Reuse Portland is a nonprofit that inspires creative reuse and environmental sustainability through educational programs and affordable materials for the community.
Each week, the local shop is hosting Crafternoon. Here are the details about the upcoming events.
Crafternoon Events at SCRAP PDX
Spend your Sunday making special crafts from reused materials at SCRAP PDX. Each event features a different craft project. All supplies will be included. All of these events are family friendly.
The events are held from 2-4 p.m. Here are the upcoming dates:
Sunday, April 9
On Easter Sunday, make creative reuse Easter-themed crafts in a fun, family-friendly environment.
Sunday, April 16
Usher in the season with all sorts of spring crafts, including bottle cap bugs, flower garlands, mini fairy houses and unique seed markers for our gardens.
Sunday, April 23
Make a special decoupage creation using vintage postage stamps and other thin papery collage material and Mod Podge to transform glass jars into tea lights.
Sunday, April 30
Beckon in beams of light with a homemade crystalline sun catchers made from reused materials.
Sunday. May 7
Learn Suminagashi, the process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colorful.
Tickets
Online tickets are $7.50, plus a $2.08 fee, per person. Note: The May 7 event is $12.50 plus processing fees.
Tickets are available in person, but are subject to capacity limits. Scrap PDX encourages participants to buy tickets in advance. If this ticket price is not in your budget, there is also an option to donate what you can.
