Join a celebration of Native American Heritage Month at Frybread Fest.
This special event invites everyone to come together in a day of education, healing and celebration at Director Park in downtown Portland. Experience a rich lineup of activities that honor Native American culture and traditions.
2025 Frybread Fest
Frybread Fest is Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival is free to attend.
This event is an open invitation to anyone interested in learning more about Native traditions and enjoying food and festivities.
What to Expect
Cultural Demos: Learn about regalia making and beading with Becca Lynn and language and food traditions with Whitney Jackson from Warm Springs.
Storytelling by Karen Kitchen and Ed Edmo: Listen to the powerful words of Native American storytellers as they share tales that bring the past to life and connect us to the wisdom and resilience of Native heritage.
Drumming and Jazz: Feel the energy and spirit of Native drumming performed by Turquoise Pride, whose rhythmic beats invite everyone to celebrate the significance of music in Indigenous cultures. Plus, enjoy Indigenous-led contemporary jazz combo Wen’ipt.
Free Frybread: Enjoy a taste of traditional Native American frybread. The first 200 people in attendance receive it for free.
Portland Indigenous Marketplace Vendors: Support local Indigenous artisans by browsing handcrafted goods, art, jewelry and more. The Portland Indigenous Marketplace features an array of unique items perfect for gifts or personal treasures.
