Good in the Hood has been canceled in 2024. The next event is scheduled for June 28-29, 2025.
The 30th annual Good in the Hood Multicultural Music and Food Festival is strengthening unity in the community.
The annual festival in Northeast Portland sets the stage for locally and nationally renowned musicians, local artists, small businesses and organizations.
Here are the details about the 2023 event.
2023 Good in the Hood
Good in the Hood Multicultural Music and Food Festival is June 24-25, 2023. Hours are noon-8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Here’s what you can expect at this year’s event.
Parade
On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., attend the festival’s parade through Northeast Portland. This year’s Parade Grand Marshal, Dr. S. Renee Mitchell, a Pulitzer Prize-nominated former newspaper journalist and the visionary founder of an award winning youth leadership development initiative called: I Am M.O.R.E.
The parade starts at Emanuel Legacy Medical Center and travels to King School Park where the festival is held.

Activities
The event has a variety of food and community vendors. Grab a bite to eat and peruse creations from local artists and meet with a variety of community organizations offering resources and services. There is also a beer and wine garden.
Legacy Health is providing free health screenings at the event.
The festival has a kid space filled with family-friendly activities. Kids can get free haircuts and free braiding as well as meet players from the Portland Trail Blazers. On Saturday, there are $8 kid’s bike helmets for sale and free Gith backpacks, while supplies last. There’s puppet shows, face painting, and free bike and scooter drawings.
Parking and Shuttle
Street parking is available around King School Park. You can also park at Emanuel Legacy Medical Center and take the shuttle.
The shuttle picks up from Legacy Emanuel and N Knott Street between N. Vancouver Ave. and N. Williams Ave. Drop off is at NE 7th and Wygant near the festival. The shuttle runs 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Good in the Hood is free and open to all. The festival takes place at King School Park, 4906 NE 6th Ave. in Portland. For more information, visit the Good in the Hood website.
