Leach Botanical Garden's Aerial Treewalk Opening April 16

Leach Botanical Garden is a natural oasis nestled in Southeast Portland. The 16-acre estate features more than 2,000 plant species growing along the banks of Johnson Creek. Adding to the unique charm is the historic manor house, stone cabin, bridge crossing and gift shop.

The outdoor escape has recently undergone a transformation by expanding the upper garden, including an aerial treewalk. You’re invited to experience the new spaces and original garden areas free of charge during the official opening.

Stroll among the treetops on the new aerial treewalk and see a whole new side of the garden at the fireside arbor and terrace and pollinator garden. Also included in the project are new accessible pathways, parking areas, restrooms and a new entry area with a path leading from Upper Garden to the Manor House.

On April 16, the expansion will officially open with reserved entry available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This the ideal time to explore the new features and see the springtime blooms. The botanical garden is covered in fawn lilies, Jack-in-the-pulpit, trillium and more beautiful flowers.

Before you plan your visit, review the current safety precautions at Leach Botanical Garden:

Face coverings must be worn at all times throughout the garden
Keep physical distance of at least 6 feet between households
Limit group size to 6 people
Follow one-way signs
Online reservation required

Admission fees for the garden will be waived for the first year. All visitors must reserve their free timed entry online beforehand. Reservations for April 16 through April 30 will be made available to the general public on Tuesday, April 13. Book your visit.
