We all love getting a little something extra. For the Leap Year, companies are making sure we all take advantage of an extra day of the year. Check out these Portland area Leap Day deals, most happening on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
2024 Leap Day Deals
Aviation American Gin
Portland’s own distillery Aviation American Gin encourages Portlanders to take the leap on Leap Day with these two special offers:
Leap Year Tour. Get a discount on Aviation Gin’s tour and tasting experience. On February 29, all tours and tastings are specially priced at $29. Tours are available from 12-6 p.m.
Leap Year Wedding. Are you planning to take the leap with your partner this year? Save the hassle of planning and paying thousands of dollars. Aviation American Gin is hosting a special wedding package on February 29 only. For $290, the distillery gives you an officiant, a slice of wedding sheet cake (BYO cake topper encouraged), staff to take photos and be your witnesses and five mini cocktails. You must be 21 years of age and bring your own marriage license.
You need to book these experiences online in advance.
The distillery and visitors center is at 2075 Northwest Wilson St. in Portland.

Build-A-Bear
If your birthday is on Leap Day, you can get a special deal at participating Build-A-Bear Workshops. Celebrate your birthday by building a Birthday Treat Bear for the special price of $4 on February 29.
Limit one per birthday guest. Outfits and accessories sold separately unless otherwise noted.
There are Build-A-Bear locations at Washington Square, Clackamas Town Center and Woodburn Outlet.

Chipotle
Get a special tasty bonus from Chipotle on Leap Day. The fast food chain is giving free guacamole to Chipotle Rewards members who use code EXTRA24 at checkout on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com. This offer is valid for free small side or entrée topping of guac with purchase of a full-priced entrée item. Limit one free serving per order.
The company is also hosting an “Extra Day, Extra Codes” challenge on Instagram from February 26 through February 29. This challenge awards free guac for a year to 29 winners.
There are 10 Chipotle locations in and around Portland.
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream
To celebrate Leap Day, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is serving up $2.29 cones and dishes all day long.
Handel’s has two local locations: 13539 NW Cornell Rd. in Portland and 21300 Southwest Langer Farms Parkway in Sherwood.
Insomnia Cookies
If you’re a Leapling, enjoy a free 6-pack of Classic Cookies on February 29, no purchase necessary. You must show s photo ID with proof of birthday in store.
Also for everyone else, get an extra free cookie with the purchase of a 6- or 12-pack of Classic Cookies from February 26 through March 3. The offer is valid for in-shop orders and local pick-up or delivery orders made via the Insomnia Cookies site or app.

Krispy Kreme
Treat yourself to a special doughnut deal on February 29. Krispy Kreme is offering $2.29 Original Glazed dozen when you buy any dozen at participating shops. Planning an international trip this year? Get your passport photo for free at Staples. On February 29 only, Staples is giving away 29,000 free passport photos. This deal is available to Easy Rewards members. You’ll need to download the app and sign up for the free rewards program to get the coupon. Valid in store only.

Who loves Cinnabon? You can now snack on this sweet treat at Wendy’s. To celebrate this new menu item and the leap year, Wendy’s is giving customers a free Cinnabon Pull-Apart, while supplies last. Best of all, there is no purchase necessary to get this treat.
This deal is only available during breakfast hours, from opening to 10:30 a.m. Get the freebie either from the drive-thru or in restaurant.

VooDoo Doughnut
On Leap Day, VooDoo Doughnut is offering a special Leapling Doughnut for $2.29. The doughnut is shaped like a frog dipped in green vanilla frosting and filled with Bavarian cream.
The doughnut is available in shop and online at participating locations. There are four local shops: 1501 NE Davis St., 22 SW 3rd Ave. and 14620 SE McLoughlin Blvd. and 8203 NE Vancouver Mall Dr.
