Join Love is King for a Selma Bridge reenactment in Portland. The MLK march across the St. John’s Bridge honors the spirit, work and words of Martin Luther King Jr.
Love is King provides equitable access and safety to ensure an enriching and exhilarating experiences in nature for BIPOC and all voices. The organization hosts community events throughout the year.
Here’s how you can participate in the MLK March at the St. John’s Bridge.
2024 MLK March Across the St. John’s Bridge
Everyone in the community is invited to join Love is King’s act of solidarity. Join together in peace and unity as you walk, hike and march across the St. John’s Bridge.
The event will begin with a short presentation on the civil rights movement, Bloody Sunday and the march of Martin Luther King Jr. from Selma to Montgomery, crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge.
Speakers and performances include Chad Brown, James Edward Mills, Mic Crenshaw, Pastor Craig Brown and the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Gospel Choir.
The event starts promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 24. The St. Johns Bridge will be closed for this event.
Parking is available at Cathedral City Park parking lot., N Edison Street and Pittsburg Ave. in Portland.

We would like to help promote the MLK walk across the St Johns Bridge, but the Love is King website (whose link is provided in your post) is listing the date at Feb 24 rather than Jan 20. Which is correct?
When I tried to leaving a message on the Love is King site, it wouldn’t send. I am pretty much ready to give up on including this announcement because it may be incorrect. Can you or Love is Kind provide accurate information and correct whichever date is incorrect?
