Head to Mt. Angel for the annual Volksfest featuring authentic German and drink along with live music and family-friendly entertainment.

Known for its Bavarian-inspired architecture and welcoming community spirit, Mt. Angel offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Mt. Angel boasts well-preserved historic buildings, charming shops, and local eateries that reflect the town’s commitment to preserving its unique character. Whether you’re exploring the quaint streets or attending one of the vibrant events, Mt. Angel is a hidden gem that captures the heart of Oregon’s cultural diversity and natural beauty. Plus, it’s an easy day trip from Portland.

Here are the details about this year’s festival.

The 2024 Mt. Angel Volksfest is February 2-4. Activities include:

Live music and live entertainment.
Local craft brews and wines.
Food and craft vendors.
Face painting and balloon artistry for kids.
Volkswalks for all ages. This is similar to a cake walk, and includes Volksfest merchandise, beer tokens, sausage packs and more.
Sausage eating contest (Saturday only).

The lineup of local brews and wines features 11 beers and wines from international and local breweries and wineries. There is also a cider and a seltzer option.

Food options include a wide variety of German favorites, such as sausages, fondue, pretzels, schnitzels and more. There’s also sides, snacks and sweets available from food vendors.

Tickets are $10. All attendees under 21 attend for free.

The festival is taking place Friday, February 2 through Sunday, February 4. Hours are 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
