Adoption fees for every adult cat or dog (that means age 1 or older) at the Oregon Humane Society are reduced by 50% starting Sunday, April 13, through Saturday, April 19. That can be a substantial savings for a new best friend, especially for some elite mutts that command a regular adoption fee of $200 or more. Adoption fees for cats are generally much lower, but with the big savings you’ll want to bring home more than one kitty.
If you adopt a dog next week you’ll have plenty of time to train with your new four-legged fitness partner for the annual Doggie Dash, a fundraising event for dogs and their humans that benefits the Oregon Humane Society. The Doggie Dash takes place on Sunday, May 10, starting at 9 a.m. at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
Until April 19 you can get a $3 discount from the $30 registration fee by registering here with the discount code tailwags. Your fee includes a pancake breakfast, a free mimosa and a free beer tasting and a customized Doggie Dash tote bag. You and your dog can choose between a 1.5-mile and a 2.5-mile route.
