Portland firework shows and celebrations are held throughout the area. Keep in mind, the use of personal fireworks has been banned in the City of Portland. Save your money and be safe this July 4 by attending one of these firework displays and celebrations.

2024 4th of July Fireworks and Celebrations in and around Portland

Waterfront Blues Festival
The Waterfront Blues Festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland hosts the annual fireworks show.
The fireworks display is launched from a barge on the Willamette River, making it viewable from just about anywhere on either side of the river. The show starts at dusk, around 10 p.m., on July 4, 2024.

Picnic in the Pearl
Make your way to the Pearl District for a day filled with art, food, fun and community spirit at Picnic in the Pearl. The event features artist booths, restaurant stalls, games and activities, a picnic area and community tables from 12-8 p.m. in the Pearl District.
4th of July Spectacular at Oaks Park
While admission to Oaks Park’s 4th of July event will cost you $38 per person, there are plenty of places where you can enjoy the attraction’s fireworks show from outside the gate. The fireworks show starts at 10 p.m. on July 4.
View the show from Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, Willamette Park or Sellwood Riverfront Park. Keep in mind, the parking lots at Oaks Bottom and Willamette parks closes at 10 p.m. so you’ll have to park outside and walk in or take public transit.
Eastmoreland 4th of July Parade
The annual 4th of July Parade starts at 11 a.m. in front of Duniway Elementary School. All are welcome to walk in the parade and kids of all ages are encouraged to decorate their bikes.
Duniway Elementary School is at 7700 Southeast Reed College Place in Portland.
Fourth of July Celebration at Bob’s Red Mill
On Saturday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., stop by Bob’s Red Mill for a special celebration.
There’s a BBQ with $7 burgers, $1 shaved ice and popcorn. Enjoy your lunch and listen to live music by Hans & the Wanted. There’s also games and prizes, including a watermelon eating contest.
Portland Party Goats is onsite with four of their baby goats from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Bob’s Red Mill Whole Grain Store is at 5000 SE International Way in Milwaukie.
City of Maywood Park 4th of July
From noon to 5 p.m., the City of Maywood Park is hosting family-friendly events, including a parade, barbecue, pie eating contest, beer garden and games.
Head to 3510 NE Maywood Place in Maywood Park to join the fun.
Hillsboro Hops Game
After the baseball game against the Eugene Emeralds on July 3 there will be a fireworks show. The game begins at 7:05 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium, 4450 N.E. Century Blvd. in Hillsboro. Tickets start at $8.
There will also be a fireworks display at games on June 14, July 12, July 26, August 9, August 23 and August 30.
The Hillsboro Ballpark is at 4460 NE Century Blvd. in Hillsboro.
Hillsboro Rotary 4th of July Parade
Since 1926, the Hillsboro Rotary Club has hosted the annual 4th of July parade in downtown Hillsboro. The parade will be held at 10 a.m. on July 4. The event is celebrating 100 years of Rotary. The parade starts along NE Grant St., turns onto NE Cornell Rd, E Main St, and then NE 2nd Ave.
4th of July Celebration Concert and Celebration
Head to Veterans Memorial Park for a concert and activities on July 4. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there’s family-friendly activities including the fun jump, yard games and face painting.
The featured performer is country singer Britnee Kellogg. Pack a picnic and blankets and chairs for sitting on the grass. This event is free to attend.
Veterans Memorial Park is at Intersection of Washington, Watson, and 7th in Beaverton.
Oak Hills 4th of July Celebration
On July 4, the celebration begins with a fun run followed by a community parade. Entertainment and activities are held throughout the day. Starting at 6:30 p.m., food and beverage carts will be onsite. The fireworks show starts at 10 p.m. This year, it is $5 per person to access the greenspace where the fireworks show is held.
Events are held at and around the Oak Hills Recreation Center, 2400 NW 153rd Ave. in Beaverton. Check out the full schedule.
Star Spangled Parade and Independence Day Illumination Concert and Laser Show
The city hosts a daylong celebration on July 4. Starting at 10 a.m., enjoy a parade from Lake Garden Court to Chandler and 10th Street onto A Avenue. The route then travels along Second Street ending at Millennium Plaza Park.
At Millennium Plaza Park, 200 First St, festivities continue at the park from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with live music, a pie eating contest, national anthem and drummers, goat petting zoo and vendors.
In the evening, Lake Oswego hosts a concert and laser light show at Foothills Park, 199 Foothills Road. Starting at 8 p.m., Earth, Wind & Fire cover band Kalimba performs followed the laser light show. Lasers take flight at 10:15 p.m. Food and art vendors will be onsite. Bring your blankets and low-back chairs to watch the show. See the full schedule of events.
Summer Fest at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site
On Saturday, July 6, Summer Fest features two stages with live music and entertainment, games on the lawn, magicians, face painting and fun for the whole family. Bring a picnic or purchase food from local vendors.
Summer Fest is free and open to all from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. Note that this event does not have a fireworks show. See the full list of activities.
4th of July Family Festival
On July 4, the day-long festival begins with a morning walk hosted by the Happy Valley Hikers, followed by a community parade. A family festival at Happy Valley Park, 13770 SE Ridgecrest Rd., will have live music, carnival games and inflatable structures, and food and beverage vendors, and a beer garden. A fireworks show starts at dusk.

4th of July Fireworks Show
The City of Sandy is hosting its annual fireworks show at dusk on July 4 at Sandy High School, 37400 Bell St.
Hood River Fireworks
The celebration will start on July 4 at 10 a.m. with a parade along 12th St. Afterward you can stroll around Hood River. It’s a perfect place to grab lunch and peruse the shops.
In the evening, the fireworks show will start at 10 p.m. at the Hood River Event Site, Portway Ave. in Hood River.
Fourth of July Celebration
The city is hosting the 4th of July festival, including a 5k, parade, children’s activities, a festival, street dancing, and pie eating contest. Activities are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Head to Overlook Park, 113-131 S Main Ave. in Ridgefield.
Fort Dalles Fourth
Head to The Dalles for a full day of fun on July 4. Join in on the parade, fun run, yoga, community breakfast, concert, and block party in the morning. Then the big fireworks show starts at 10 p.m. Watch the show from Riverfront Park, Riverfront Park Rd.
Fireworks Celebration at the Oregon Garden
The Oregon Garden’s fireworks show takes place on July 3. Celebrate the day with live music, food trucks, activities, 80 acres of gardens to explore and a 15-minute fireworks display. From 5-10:30 p.m., admission is $10 per person. Kids 12 and under attend for free.
Parking onsite is $10. Offsite parking is free. The Oregon Garden is at 879 W Main St. in Silverton.
St. Helens Independence Day Celebration
On July 4, the celebration is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at McCormick Park. Festivities include at freedom walk, cruise in, flag raising and national anthem, birthday cake and musical performances.
This event does not include a fireworks show.
The event is at McCormick Park at 475 S 18th St. in St. Helens.
Star Spangled Celebration
Head to the Sunset Speedway in Banks for a car race followed by a fireworks show on July 4. Tickets are $20. The race starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at dusk. You can also watch the show from outside the speedway at Banks Sunset Park, 12765 NW Main St. in Banks.
4th of July Parade
On Thursday, June 4, at 11 a.m., enjoy a community parade set to the theme of “Salute Our American Heroes.” The parade starts and ends at Jessie Mays Community Center, 30975 NW Hillcrest Street in North Plains. Free refreshments are provided at the center.
4th of July Parade and Fireworks
At 10 a.m. on July 4, downtown Estacada is hosting its annual parade, which is known for its rolling display of decorated log trucks. The parade will begins at Estacada High School and travels along Main Street and returns to the high school via Southeast Fourth Street and Broadway Street.
This year, there is also a fireworks display near the high school at 10 p.m.
4th of July Celebration
Join Woodburn Recreation and Parks for a fun night of games, food and live music at Centennial Park, 900 Parr Rd NE in Woodburn on July 4.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., the park is filled with games and food from local vendors. At 6 p.m., enjoy Roundhouse Band followed by A Cara O Cruz at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks show starts at 10 p.m.
Skamania Fairgrounds Fireworks
Enjoy live music and fireworks at dusk at Skamania County Fairgrounds, 710 SW Rock Creek Dr. in Stevenson.
4th of July Celebration in Marine Park
Take a drive out to the Gorge for fireworks at Marine Park on July 4. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. Food and beverage vendors will be onsite all day.
The event is at Cascade Locks Marine Park, 355 Wa Na Pa St. in Cascade Locks.
Fourth of July Laser Light Show
Join Wilsonville Parks and Recreation for the third annual Laser Light Show on July 4. The show begins when it’s dark enough for the lasers, ~9:45 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch the show.
Head to Town Center Park, 29600 SW Park Place in Wilsonville.
