Portland Bread Fest Returns With $5 Admission

Portland is a city that takes bread seriously. Sourdough, baguettes, croissants, bagels, pastries—if it involves flour, fermentation and a very good crust, chances are someone here has devoted an unreasonable amount of care to making it.

Portland Bread Fest brings many of those local bakers together for one carb-heavy afternoon. The festival returns Sunday, October 18, with bread, pastries and other locally made goods available to browse and buy.

Best of all, admission is only $5, and kids 12 and younger get in free.

2026 Portland Bread Fest

The 2026 Portland Bread Fest takes place Sunday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Avenue Portland in the Lloyd District.

The event is designed as a big marketplace for Portland’s baking community. Expect a room full of local bakers and plenty of opportunities to shop for bread and baked goods while meeting some of the people making them.

Bread Fest started in Portland in 2023 with just 10 vendors. Founder Brad Kohler, who later opened Good Dough Bakery, created the event as a way to bring together bakers, millers, farmers and the people who love what they make. The festival has grown considerably since then, attracting thousands of bread lovers in recent years.

In other words, this is not a sit-down tasting or fancy food festival with a hefty ticket price. It is closer to a farmers market devoted to very good things made with dough: wander around, see what catches your eye and buy directly from participating vendors.

The full 2026 vendor lineup has not yet been announced, so check the Portland Bread Fest Instagram page as the event gets closer for participating bakeries and other updates.

General admission is $5 at the door.

Kids 12 and younger get in free. No advance general admission ticket is currently required. Organizers have also announced that VIP tickets are coming, although details have not yet been released.

Keep in mind that the $5 admission gets you into the festival; bread, pastries and other goods from vendors are sold separately.
