Celebrate Earth Day in Portland–together as one. The City of Portland Earth Day Celebration is a fun, family-friendly afternoon dedicated to sustainability, community and connection.

This year’s theme, “Together as One,” invites Portlanders of all ages to come together to celebrate of our shared commitment to a greener, healthier future. Plus, it’s completely free to join in on the day of fun. 

Here’s what is in store:

2025 City of Portland Earth Day Celebration

The City of Portland Earth Day Celebration is Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 12-3 p.m. at Laurelhurst Park. 

There are a range of activities to choose from at this free event, including:

Arrive on Bike

Kick things off early at 11 a.m. with a bike ride.

Join the Portland Bureau of Transportation for an Earth Day Community Bike Ride from Colonel Summers Park to Laurelhurst Park. You’ll cruise along Portland’s Neighborhood Greenways that are designed for walking, biking and rolling.

Free Activities and Food

At 12 p.m.  Laurelhurst Park comes alive with Earth Day festivities. Here’s what you can look forward to:

• Free food provided by Milk Crate Kitchen.
• Live music from local favorite DJ Pyum.
• A free seed exchange to find something new for your garden.
• Hands-on learning and resources about sustainability, including leave no trace, recycling and green roofs. 
• A chance to meet the Sustainability and Climate Commission appointees.

Hear from City Leaders

At 1:30 p.m., gather around for special Earth Day remarks from:

• Mayor Keith Wilson
• Councilor Steve Novick
• Chief Sustainability Officer Vivian Satterfield

Family Fun with Nikki the Brown Clown

Bring the kiddos for a joyful Earth Day-themed performance by Nikki the Brown Clown at 2 p.m.
