Nestled between Reed College and the Eastmoreland Golf Course is an urban oasis called Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. On the 9-acre property grows a collection of rare species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, shrubs, companion plants and unusual trees.

It’s truly a magical escape from the busy city. I highly recommend a visit. Plus, you can choose your very own rhododendron to take home during this special event.

Take in all the vibrant colors and fragrant blooms of the Early Rhododendron Show and Sale at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. The event is Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

From timeless pinks and purples to eye-catching yellows and fiery oranges, this event showcases rhododendrons in every hue. I was amazed by the variety the first time I visited the garden. If you’re looking to add some flair to your garden, plan on picking out a few plants to bring home.

Tickets

The plant sale is included in regular admission, which is $9 per person. Senior admission is $8 and kids admission is $6. Children 5 and under are free. 

Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is at 5801 SE 28th Ave. in Portland. Keep in mind parking is limited. Consider carpooling, taking transit or rideshare.
