Rockstar Energy Open 2026 skateboard and music festival

Skateboarding culture is taking over downtown Portland when the Rockstar Energy Open 2026 returns to Waterfront Park from August 14 to 16, 2026. This free festival features world-class men’s and women’s street and park skateboarding, live musical performances, athlete signings and interactive fan activations.

World-Class Roster of Skaters

The competition brings together world champion pros, Olympians and top international talent competing across custom-designed street and park courses. Here are some skaters to watch out for.

• Street Division: Look out for heavy hitters like Chris Joslin, Braden Hoban, Lazer Crawford, Paige Heyn, Chloe Covell, Jake Ilardi, Matt Berger, and Jhancarlos Gonzalez.
• Park Division: Featuring powerhouse skaters including Tom Schaar, Keegan Palmer, Sky Brown, Cory Juneau, Gavin Bottger, Alex Sorgente, Bryce Wettstein, and Pedro Barros.

When the sun sets, the live music begins at Waterfront Park. Here is the schedule:

• Friday, August 14: PUP (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.) followed by Hot Mulligan (8:30 to 9:30 p.m.)
• Saturday, August 15: Angel Du$t (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.) followed by Basement (8:30 to 9:30 p.m.).

Throughout the weekend, the Rockstar Energy Open Culture Village will offer food trucks, exclusive event merchandise, product giveaways, interactive fan experiences, and direct autograph opportunities with your favorite skateboarders.

Public Transit (Recommended)

Public transportation is the fastest and easiest way to reach Waterfront Park during major festival weekends:

• MAX Light Rail: The MAX Blue and Red Lines stop just one block west of the park. Key nearby stations include Yamhill District, Oak St/SW 1st Ave, and Old Town/Chinatown.
• Bus Lines: Numerous TriMet bus routes run directly through downtown Portland within a short walking distance of Naito Parkway.
• Park & Ride: Commuters can park for free at outer TriMet Park & Ride stations (such as Sunset Transit Center or Gateway Transit Center) and take the MAX Light Rail directly into downtown.

Parking Options

There is no dedicated parking lot directly on park grounds, but several nearby off-street garages and street parking options are available nearby:

• World Trade Center Garage: Located at 56 SW Taylor St.
• Moda Tower Garage: Located at 618 SW 3rd Ave.
• City Street Parking: Metered parking is available on surrounding downtown streets. Spaces fill quickly on event days, so using a parking app or reserving a garage spot in advance is strongly recommended.
