Embark on an intergalactic journey through the vast realms of science fiction during the Sci-Fi Film Festival at OMSI.
Over the course of five weeks, the Empirical Theater’s four-story screen will come alive with more than 30 of the genre’s most iconic and unforgettable films.
From cult classics like “The Fifth Element” and “The Thing” to family-friendly favorites, such as “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” and “The Iron Giant,” this year’s festival promises an eclectic array of cinematic delights to captivate science fiction enthusiasts of all ages.
Here’s how you can join the fun:
Sci-Fi Film Festival at OMSI
The Sci-Fi Film Festival at OMSI is on select days April 10-May 19, 2026. Get ready to escape reality and venture into the infinite possibilities of the cinematic cosmos.
Ticket prices for each movie are $9 for adults (ages 14-62), $7 for youth (ages 3-13) and $8 for seniors (63-plus), except for the opening night event.
If you want to experience everything this festival has to offer, buy a festival pass. The $95 pass gives you access to all festival screenings, opening night celebrations and priority seating. Plus, you’ll get one complimentary museum admission voucher.

Friday, April 10
Opening night tickets include the screening along with movie snacks, a beverage (either alcoholic or non-alcoholic), and door prizes. Plus, each attendee will receive a pass for free museum admission on a future date. Tickets are $21 for adults, $19 for seniors and $17 for youth.
