Have you checked out Vancouver lately? You may be surprised at just how cool the Couve has become. The new waterfront walk and addition of downtown eateries have brought new life to Vancouver. If you’re looking to try the area’s hottest restaurants at a great price, drive up north for Vancouver Dining Month.
During the month of October, 35 restaurants are serving up special dinner menus featuring enticing bites and memorable flavors. The special menus feature three courses for $23. The restaurants may offer a traditional three-course meal of an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, or the menu can take a more unique approach by mixing in craft drink pairings, a variety of small plates, and other options.
Most of the restaurants a locally owned. This dining event is a great opportunity to support local businesses and try something new. Cuisine options vary from American to Italian to French. Breweries and wine bars are also getting in on the event.
Reservations are not required to participate in the Vancouver Dining Month. If you are dining with a big group, it is always a good idea to give the restaurant a call ahead of time so they can have a space ready for you.
An important reminder going into this dining event is that the $23 price does not include taxes. Also, this does not include the tip to your server.
Does $23 per person seem like a little too much for your budget? There is no shame in sharing this dining menu with a friend or loved one. Many of these three courses would be enough for two people. Plus, some places are catering to two people with their menus. Look through all the menus and find the best option for you.
What places are offering the best deal? Here are my favorites:
Elements Restaurant is offering a first course selection of soup or salad, a choice of vegetarian ravioli, trout or chicken for the entree, and cheesecake or chocolate cake for dessert. With dinner entrees starting at $22, you know this three-course meal is a great value. Plus, Elements boasts a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, and offers a bistro-style eating experience.
Loowit Brewing Company is serving up a great deal for two people. You’ll get two burgers of your choice and a large order of wedges or tots. This is a $27 value you’ll get for $4 off a menu for two. This brew pub also has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, and offers a fun, casual dining experience.
Say Ciao! is giving you the option of three of 12 select small plates. Choose from risotto cakes, tenderloin cutlets, lamb burger and more. On any other day, these 12 items range in price from $8-$12. So you’ll save between $1 and $13. This eatery has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, and features a rustic, homey dining experience.
All menus will be posted by October 1. For more information on the Dine the Couve, view the Vancouver dining month website.
