Have you checked out Vancouver lately? You may be surprised at just how cool the Couve has become. The new waterfront walk and addition of downtown eateries have brought new life to Vancouver. If you’re looking to try some of Clark County’s hottest restaurants at a great price, drive up north for Vancouver Dining Month.
During the month of October, 32 restaurants are serving up special dinner menus featuring enticing bites and memorable flavors. The special menus feature three courses for $20 or $30. The restaurants may offer a traditional three-course meal of an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, or the menu can take a more unique approach by mixing in craft drink pairings, a variety of small plates, and other options.
Most of the restaurants are locally owned. This dining event is a great opportunity to support local businesses and try something new. Cuisine options vary from American to Italian to French. Breweries and wine bars are also participating.
Individual restaurants have their own hours of operation and rules about reservations. Current safety guidelines for dining in will still need to be followed. I recommend calling ahead to make reservations, or see if you can get this deal to go.
An important reminder going into this dining event is that the price does not include taxes. Also, this does not include the tip to your server.
Does $20-$30 per person seem like a little too much for your budget? Some places are offering two meals with their special Vancouver Dining Month menu. Also, some of these three courses would be enough for two people. Look through all the menus and find the best option for you.
What places are offering the best deal? Here are my favorites:
Loowit Brewing Company is serving up a great deal for two people. You’ll get two burgers of your choice and a large side for $20. This is about a $28 value, depending on what burger you choose. So you’ll get about $6 off regular price. This brew pub also has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, and offers a fun, casual dining experience.
If you’re looking for a fancy night out, head to Grays Restaurant. During Vancouver Dining Month, the restaurant is offering a first course of salad, a choice of boneless short rib, grilled salmon or five cheese mac for the entree, and a skillet cookie for dessert for $30. With dinner entrees starting at $19, this three-course meal is a good value. This restaurant also has nice outdoor seating.
UnderBar is a serving up one appetizer, one sandwich and one drink for $30. On any other day, these food items range in price from $9-$14. So you can save as much as $12. This eatery has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, and features a speakeasy-themed cocktail lounge.
