Step into a world of holiday magic this season at the Gresham Historical Society for its annual Christmas at the Museum celebration.
From November 30 until Christmas, the museum transforms into a festive wonderland. View twinkling Christmas trees, whimsical gingerbread houses and a charming winter village. You can also grab buy festive treats at the store.
Whether you’re snapping photos with Santa, marveling at the nutcrackers or voting in the gingerbread contest, this is a family-friendly holiday experience you won’t want to miss.
Here’s what you can expect:
Gresham Historical Society’s Christmas at the Museum
Christmas at the Museum features activities every from November 30 to December 21. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Christmas at the Museum Highlights
- Photos with Santa: Bring your little ones to meet Santa every Saturday.
- Vote in the Gingerbread Contest: Be a part of the fun by casting your vote for the best gingerbread creation on display.
- Festive Decorations: Explore a winter village, seven glittering Christmas trees and an assortment of nutcrackers—all set in a beautifully decorated museum.
The dates for this special event are November 30-December 1; December 5-8; December 12-15; and December 19-21.
General admission is $5 per person. Children 5 and under attend for free.
Special Events
In addition to the festive activities at the museum are special events. Peruse the list and be sure to buy tickets in advance for these celebrations:
Carols in Context: A Historical Sing-Along
- When: Saturday, November 30, 5–6:30 p.m.
- What: Sing along to classic carols while learning their fascinating origins. From beloved tunes to forgotten holiday gems, this event is perfect for all ages.
- Cost: $10 per person (includes a song booklet, a vote in the gingerbread competition and a festive ornament or cookie). Children 5 and under are free.
Mosaique Christmas Concert
- When: Friday, December 6, 7–8:30 p.m.
- What: Enjoy a delightful mix of heartfelt and humorous holiday music performed by Thea Enos and her band. Light refreshments included.
- Cost: $35 per person
Wreath-Making Workshop
- When: Sunday, December 8, at 3:30 p.m.
- What: Create your own beautiful evergreen wreath under the guidance of professional florist Cassie Rafalski from Foraged Blooms. All materials are provided, including local evergreens, berries, pine cones, ribbon, and more! This hands-on workshop also includes snacks and beverages.
- Cost: $50 per person (designed for ages 16 and up)
Gift Wrapping Service
- When: Sunday, December 15 from noon to 3 p.m.
- What: Let the society’s volunteers take care of your holiday gift wrapping. This service is available by donation—pay what feels fair.
Dan Davey Quartet Holiday Concert
- When: Thursday, December 19, 7–9 p.m.
- What: Enjoy a cozy evening of jazz with the Dan Davey Quartet featuring Don Norton, Bill Athens, and Tim Rap. This performance of festive favorites is sure to fill your heart with holiday cheer. Light refreshments will be served.
- Cost: $35 per person
