After nearly five years in Hillsdale — first on the north side of Capitol Highway, then on the south side — Korkage Wine Bar & Shop is calling it quits. In an announcement on the shop’s web site, owners Earl Johnson and Tamairah Boleyn are calling it quits. From now until the end of June the closing sale includes the entire inventory for 25% off. Hours at the shop, 6320 S.W. Capitol Hwy., are now 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., daily.
Meanwhile, customers can still drop by to purchase wine by the glass and cheese plates. There’s no longer a full menu or live music, but Johnson and Boleyn would probably appreciate the company and some encouraging words.
Tim Sugden’s wine art that hangs in window frames on the walls has been marked down as well, now selling for $100 each.
We’re sorry to see a neighborhood business go. But thanks to Portland Cheap Tipster Michelle R. for sharing the news.
