Celebrate 20 years of community for people, the planet and animals at the Compassionate Living Festival.
For 20 years, Northwest VEG has promoted plant-based diets and supported communities in their journey toward a vegan lifestyle. This special festival celebrates that journey by highlighting vegan food purveyors, chefs and creators.
Here’s what you can enjoy at the event.
Attend the Compassionate Living Festival on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12-6 p.m. at Norse Hall in Portland. This event has delectable vegan food and drink samples, inspiring talks and hands-on activities.
The event brings together more than 50 vendors. Sample offerings from a diverse lineup of vegan food and drink vendors include Prime Roots, Obon Shokudo, Camellia Pistrina, Cultured Kindness, Chicharronies, Kakaiba Bakery, The Better Bar, Tomomochi, Buttah! and Vtopian Artisan Cheeses.
While vegan food takes center stage, the Compassionate Living Festival features a variety of artisan vendors selling handmade candles, soaps, jewelry, hand-dyed yarns, clothing and more.
Family-friendly activities abound, with a photo booth, karaoke and kids’ programming provided by The Vegan Scouts.
Cooking enthusiasts have the opportunity to learn from three seasoned vegan chefs through live demos:
The festival also features thought-provoking talks from leaders in the vegan and sustainability movement:
A special panel of experts, including Chelsea V Davis, founder of Veggies Do It Better Events and the Vegan Night Market, and Eunice Reyes, founder of Rated V for Vegan, discuss practical tips to support the vegan community through conscious dining, budget-friendly choices and eco-friendly living.
Tickets are $20 for adults (11+), $1 for kids (10 and under). All proceeds support Northwest VEG.
