Head to the Coast for Corgi Beach Day
Hundreds of Corgis are descending on Cannon Beach for the Corgi Beach Day. Every year, Portland Corgi Meetup Group hosts an annual beach day for Corgi and Corgi lovers.
On Saturday, July 27, pack a lunch, grab your gear and head down to the Cannon Beach access to splash around with the biggest mob of Corgis you’ve ever seen.
Last year, more than 500 Corgis and their families participated in costume contests, races and raffles. All ages and dog breeds are welcome to join the fun.
The event doesn’t start until 11 a.m., so you have plenty of time to get there on Saturday morning. If you’re looking to mae a weekend out of it, check out our guide frugal getaway to Cannon Beach guide.
Activities include costume contests, Corgi races, raffles, a silent auction, and of course lots of time to stroll the beach and play in the sand. The event wraps up at 4 p.m.
All net proceeds are donated to the Oregon Humane Society. At registration, the event asks for a $10 donation. You can also purchase $1 raffle tickets for a plethora of awesome prizes.
You can also buy some cool themed swag at the registration tent. Each year the event has a theme and a fun design. This year it is Corgi Beach Bums.
While you’re here, check out some of these activities for the perfect frugal beach trip.
Corgi Beach Day parking is available at the Cannon Beach Visitor Center, 207 N Spruce St, Cannon Beach, OR. Walk straight down 2nd St. to the beach and you’ll see the event tents to the left.
