The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, better known as OMSI, is one of the nation’s leading science centers and we’re lucky to have it right here in Portland. OMSI discount day is here to bring one of Portland’s best attractions to you for cheap.
Science lovers and explorers of the unknown will marvel at the special exhibits, hands-on labs and planetarium, four-story screen theater and much more.
Admission for a family of four or a group of friends can quickly reach $60+ and that’s not including access to special exhibits and attractions. Thankfully, the OMSI discount day is here to help all of us who want to save on entertainment.
Discount Day at OMSI
On the first Sunday of every month, OMSI drops the price of general admission to $5 per person. This gives you access to OMSI’s permanent exhibits and labs.
Here’s the list of dates for 2024 OMSI discount days:
- January 7
- February 4
- March 3
- April 7
- May 5
- June 2
- July 7
- August 4
- September 1
- October 6
- November 3
- December 1
You’ll also get $5 tickets on special exhibitions, Empirical Theater and Kendall Planetarium shows, and tours of the USS Blueback Submarine.
You can buy your tickets online or at the museum. If you choose to buy in-person, I recommend getting there early. OMSI opens at 9:30 a.m. Parking is $5.
Here’s how you access the $5 tickets online. Go to OMSI’s ticketing page. Choose Museum Admission and select the first Sunday of the month. Select your number of tickets. Add the tickets to your order. Then you’ll see the discount applied in your order summary. From there, you can also add on exhibits, movies, and other attractions, which will also be discounted on the first Sunday of the month.
OMSI is located at 1945 SE Water St. For more information, visit OMSI’s website.
