Community free day at the zoo
The Oregon Zoo is one of the best attractions in Portland. With many special programs, events and exhibits, everyone can take a walk on the wild side, no matter your age. This popular Portland attraction periodically offers deals on tickets, and tomorrow is your lucky day.
On February 1, the you’ll receive free admission to the Oregon Zoo. This deal is happening from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
This free admission day will likely be a zoo all of its own. The Oregon Zoo’s free admission day will be busy and parking fills up fast. You can use the Sunset Transit Center park-and-ride lot for free parking. It is one MAX stop from the zoo. Or consider parking at your nearest park and ride and taking public transit.
Activities taking place include the following:
9:45 a.m. – mountain goat feeding
10:45 a.m. – Species Conservation Lab talk in Nature Exploration Station
11:30 a.m. – condor talk
11:30 a.m. – chimpanzee talk
12:30 p.m. – Asian elephant talk
1 p.m. – reptile talk at Family Farm
1:30 p.m. – river otter talk
2 p.m. – giraffe talk
2:15 p.m. – sea otter talk
2:15 p.m. – penguin talk
3 p.m. – bat talk
