In celebration of Earth Day, The Oregon Garden hosts a day of fun filled with free activities and exhibits.
If you haven’t been, this is the ideal time to visit this Oregon attraction. The 80-acre botanical garden feature more than 20 specialty gardens showcasing the diverse botanical beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Here’s why you should attend on Earth Day:
Free Earth Day Celebration at The Oregon Garden
On Saturday, April 19, head to The Oregon Garden for family-friendly indoor activities at the garden for free. The event is held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors of all ages can explore a variety of educational exhibits, interactive demonstrations and eco-friendly vendors. There are lots of hands-on activities to engage the whole family.
Get up close with fascinating creatures from Brad’s World Reptiles and meet Caesar the No-Drama Llama. Also, unleash your creativity with an Earth Day keepsake painting craft and get your face painted.
Learn from the Experts
If you’re interested in saving energy and reducing costs, don’t miss the Energy Trust of Oregon Workshop from 11 a.m. to noon. This session provides information on funding and resources for energy-efficient home improvements.
Curious about electric vehicles? Get behind the wheel of an electric car and learn about charging options, rebates, and the benefits of going electric with PGE Ride & Drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Food and Refreshments
Enjoy delicious offerings from environmentally friendly food and beverage vendors. Outside food and beverages are welcome.
Parking
Onsite parking is $10, but complimentary park-and-walk lots are also available at Silverton Senior Center and Robert Frost Elementary.
Plus, the event is pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along.
