In the true spirit of the season, when community and generosity are the centerpiece, organizations throughout Portland are serving free Christmas dinner.
If you’re looking for a free hot meal, visit one of these local organizations to enjoy a meal onsite or take it to go. These meals are available to everyone. Note some events are on Christmas Eve.

Free Christmas Dinner in Portland
Congregation Beth Israel
Thursday, December 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
CBI is hosting a holiday dinner in partnership with Lift UP. Meals are packed and available for people to take with them. There is no sit down meal service onsite. There are also gifts of handmade hats and scarves available.
Congregation Beth Israel is at 1972 NW Flanders St. in Portland.
Potluck in the Park
Thursday, December 25, from noon to 3 p.m.
Potluck in the Park hosts a Christmas dinner that includes a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings accompanied by live music from some of Portland’s finest jazz musicians. Also, Santa Claus is back this year for photos with guests.
In addition to the meal, the event space is a true Christmas wonderland with a tree, pipe and drape surrounding the room and wreaths, fresh garland and poinsettias.
The meal is served at Portland Art Museum’s Fred & Suzanne Fields Ballroom at 1119 SW Park Ave. in Portland.
Union Gospel Mission
Thursday, December 25, at 10 a.m.
On Christmas Day, Union Gospel Mission serves meals at 10 a.m.
Union Gospel Mission is at 3 NW 3rd Ave. in Portland.
PDX Saints Love’s Holidays in the Park
Friday, December 26, from 5-7 p.m.
Enjoy a sit-down turkey dinner complete with garlands, centerpieces, music and twinkle lights at PDX Saints Love’s Holidays in the Park. There’s also hot cocoa, sweet treats, Christmas music. Everyone is invited.
The event is at Lents Park at the corner of 92nd Ave and Holgate.
