This beloved La Center bakery serves the community fresh bread, cakes, donuts and all your favorite bakery sweets.
Take a drive up to La Center to join the milestone celebration and get a sweet treat. While you’re there, take a drive out to the Cedar Creek Grist Mill’s food event.

Free Elephant Ears at Sadie and Josie’s Bakery
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sadie and Josie’s Bakery is giving away free elephant ears. Limit one per person. As with all free food events, I encourage you to get there early while supples last.
The elephant ears feature deep-fried dough coated in cinnamon sugar.
While you’re there, be sure to check out the full selection of baked goods Sadie and Josie’s is known for, including:
- Fresh bread and dinner rolls
- Cakes, cheesecakes and tres leches cakes
- Donuts, pastries and candies
- Cookies, bars, brownies and pound cakes
