Nestled along the banks of Cedar Creek in Woodland, Washington, the Cedar Creek Grist Mill opens its doors every Saturday for visitors who want a trip back in time. Make the drive to the historic landmark during an upcoming food event.
Visitors who step inside are transported back in time to see how flour, cornmeal and apple cider were once made, powered entirely by rushing water. No gas. No electricity. Just mother nature’s energy.
The mill’s giant pulleys and belts whirl above and below as volunteers explain the process. Here’s when you can see the mill in food production:

Apple Cider Pressing
October 31, 2026 at 9 a.m.
This is the biggest day of the year at the mill. Volunteers press 10,000 pounds of apples into cider. Families can get hands-on with the old-fashioned, hand-cranked presses, while musicians are invited to join the lively Bluegrass Jam on the back deck.
Cider sales begin at 9 a.m. (limit 2 half-gallons per adult), and the pressing continues until the apples run out—usually between 2:30 and 4 p.m. Pro tip: You don’t need to wait in line if you just want to see the pressing inside the mill.
Cedar Creek Grist Mill is located at 43907 NE Grist Mill Road in Woodland, Washington and is open on Saturdays from 1-4 p.m.
