Ready for the spooky season? Attend the Halloween Swamp Meet!
Mark your calendars and dust off your costumes for a special event to kick off the fall season. If you’re someone who takes Halloween seriously, this is the event you’ve been waiting for.
Here are the details about this year’s event.
2025 Halloween Swamp Meet at Oaks Park
The Halloween Swamp Meet is Saturday, August 30, 2025, from noon to 7 p.m. at Oaks Park. The free event is a celebration of all things spooky and creative.
With more than 50 vendors featuring spooky handmade items, you’ll find everything from horror masks to voodoo bags, unique jewelry and one-of-a-kind artwork. Local artists and vendors showcase their most hauntingly beautiful creations to add to your Halloween collection.
Along with the vendors, there are fun, family-friendly activities.
Family-Friendly Activities
This event is designed to be fun for the whole family. A tarot reader will be on hand to reveal your fate, while face painters will transform you into your favorite spooky character.
Costume Contest
The day wouldn’t be complete without the costume contest, which kicks off at 4 p.m. Come dressed in your best scary, funny, original, silly, elaborate, or simple costume. Trophies are awarded for first, second and third place, plus a special prize for the best kid’s costume.
After the contest, participants will parade down the midway, displaying their costumes to all the guests at Oaks Park.
Spooky Trivia
Brush up on your movies, pop culture, history and all things scary. Teams of up to three players can join trivia at 2 p.m. at the gazebo. Participate in trivia at 2 p.m. Teams can consist up to three players. There’s a max of ten teams.
This event is free to attend. All the spooky action takes place at Oaks Park, 7805 SE Oaks Park Way in Portland. While you’re there, be sure to ride the carousel and train for free.
