Taste hundreds of hot sauces and see daring spicy food challenges at the Portland Hot Sauce Expo.

If you love the fiery sensation of hot sauces, this upcoming festival is bringing the heat to Portland. The Portland Hot Sauce Expo is hosting some of the best hot sauce companies in the country for a special two-day event.

2023 Portland Hot Sauce Expo

The Portland Hot Sauce Expo is August 12 and 13 at OMSI Bridge Lot. Currently, 36 hot sauce companies are giving you the opportunity to meet the makers, sample their sauces and buy what you like. To pair with your hot sauce tastings is a selection of craft beer and wine along with food vendors including BBQ, Asian fusion and sandwiches.

The event features live entertainment in the form of competition. On the Stage of DOOM, participants compete in a range of spicy food and pepper challenges. Professional wrestling takes the stage throughout the day.

1 PM – Bobbing For Reaper Peppers Challenge

3 PM – Italian Sausage of Spicy Love Challenge
4:30 PM – Puckerbutt Pepper Company Presents The Guinness Book of World Records Reaper Eating Challenge
4:40 PM – Wrestling
6 PM – Close

If these challenges sound like something you’d like to try, you can sign up to be a participant. Spaces are limited.

Advance tickets are $10 per person. Children 10 and under attend for free with an adult. There’s also a craft package, which gets you three craft beer tokens, a limited edition poster and bottle of hot sauce for $35. Online tickets include processing fees.
