Update: This event is not taking place in 2023.
What could be more beautiful than a 1885 Victorian home dressed top to bottom in twinkly lights and tasteful holiday decor? The Victorian Belle is a spectacular holiday wonderland during the holiday light display.
On the outside, take in the dazzling lights decorating the home and the courtyard. The Victorian Belle’s garden is transformed into a magical trail of lighted trees and fun creatures. The gazebo features treats for purchase, fun displays and music.
The best part is you get to explore the home, which has every nook and cranny artfully displaying beautiful holiday decor. Going inside the Victorian Belle is like taking a step back in time. During my first visit, I marveled at the beauty of this artfully restored home, while also being blown away by the decorations on all four levels.

Sadly my experience this year was sub-par. I had gone 2 years ago and it was amazing! We returned this year with a friend and her daughter, thinking the tickets were $8 and $5…. Because that is the only information given on the website. Well, as you mentioned, the cost is more at the door, quite a bit more, and a stretch for my single mom friend. Well, at least once we’re inside there will be lots of reasonably priced snacks to choose from…… Disappointed yet again, the food options were ridiculous for catering to families with small kids. My friends daughter wasn’t interested in any of it, but for the prices we were almost relieved. What we did get was small, and weird to say the least, lol. And heads up – there is no gift shop this year, which was a huge disappointment to my other friend who was looking forward to adding to her ornament collection, as we had done two years ago. I say, maybe look elsewhere for affordable Christmas light viewing this year…..

Thanks so much for sharing your honest feedback about this year’s event with my readers, Julia. It is always disheartening to see these attractions in our area get more and more expensive every year. My favorite is Peacock Lane, which is free. I’m sure you already know about it, but here is a link to my post just in case: https://portlandlivingonthecheap.com/peacock-lane-portland/
I hope you are able to redeem this experience at another activity this holiday season, Julia!
