Portland Art Museum admission drops from $20 to just $5 this Friday, December 27, for the Samurai! exhibit of armor and other battle gear used by fierce samurai warriors from the 14th through the 19th centuries in Japan.
The museum has offered $5 tickets to the special exhibit every Friday evening in December, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This Friday, December 27, is the last chance to get this great price break before the exhibit closes January 12, 2014.
This Friday is also the museum’s monthly Fourth Friday, event, when admission for all is FREE from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It’s a great opportunity to see the most expensive artwork ever sold at auction, Francis Bacon’s “Three Studies of Lucian Freud,” which sold to an anonymous collector last month for $142.4 million. The painting will be on exhibit at the Portland Art Museum until March 30.
