Events are held on various dates during the week of Hanukkah. These events are free to attend and open to all ages.

Menorah Lighting Celebrations in and around Portland

Menorah Lighting at Pioneer Courthouse Square 

Wednesday, December 25 from 4-5:30 p.m.

Celebrate the First Night at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Enjoy an evening of warmth and connection with Chabad of Oregon. The free event features live music, hot latkes and the glow of the Chanukah candles.

Pioneer Courthouse Square is located at 701 SW 6th Ave. in downtown Portland.

Light Up Hillsboro

Wednesday, December 25 from 4:15 to 5 p.m.

Chabad Jewish Center Hillsboro is hosting a public menorah lighting with: 

• Doughnuts
• Latkes
• Fire show
• Music

There is also full security by Hillsboro police. This event is at Orenco Station Plaza, 943 NE Orenco Station Pkwy in Hillsboro.

Community Chanukah Celebration in Vancouver

Wednesday, December 25 from 4-5 p.m.

Join the Vancouver Chabad Jewish Center for the annual menorah lighting, including:

• Fire dancer
• Giant Menorah
• Donuts
• Music

The event is held at 660 Waterfront Wy in Vancouver, across from Evoke Winery.

Grand Menorah Lighting Celebration

Thursday, December 26 at 5 p.m.

Join Chabad Northwest Portland for a Chanukah Celebration including:

• Dance the night away with Silent Disco’s Jewish melodies.
• Sip on warm apple cider.
• Free Menorah kits to bring the light of Chanukah home.
• Watch the Grand Menorah lighting.

The event is held at Tanner Springs Park, NW 10th Ave. and Marshall Street in Portland.

Tigard Chanukah Festival

Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 5 p.m.

Hosted by the Tigard Chabad Jewish Center and co-sponsored by the City of Tigard, the festival brings people of all ages and backgrounds together to celebrate the holiday of Chanukah.

• Live music. 
• Traditional treats. 
• Kids crafts and activities. 
• Chanukah shop. 

The event is at Universal Plaza, 9100 Burnham St. in Tigard.

Gresham Chanukah Festival

Sunday, December 29 at 4 p.m. 

Gresham Chabad Jewish Center is hosting a 15 foot tall giant menorah lighting complete with these activities:

• Klezmer Band Live.
• Kids crafts and activities.
• Hot latkas and other treats.

The event is held at the Gresham Arts Plaza, 401 NE 2nd St. in Gresham.

Glow in the Dark Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration

Sunday, December 29 at 5 p.m.

Head to Chabad of Lake Oswego‘s Glow in the Dark Menorah Lighting featuring:

• Glowing LED Menorah.
• Latka bar and hot drinks.
• Glow-in-the-dark swag.

The event is at Millennium Plaza Park, 200 1st St. in Lake Oswego.

Sandy Menorah Lighting

Monday, December 30 at 5 p.m.

Enjoy Chanukah, the festival of lights, in Sandy with a community menorah lighting and celebration hosted by the Gresham Chabad Jewish Center.

At the event you can enjoy:

• Chanukah music.
• Holiday treats. 
• Giant Menorah lighting. 

The event is at Centennial Plaza, 39295 Pioneer Blvd. in Sandy.
